Headed up by an experienced Events, Hospitality and Sponsorship Manager and a history of delivering excellence through organising national shows, growing sponsorship revenues and 20 years’ experience in publishing and rural business sectors.
The Essence team are a highly strategic and creative bunch, with a proven track record in initiating and executing a wide range of events, from national shows and conferences to local seminars. We’re always looking for innovative ways to make your event stand out from the crowd and maximise the income potential.
We’re based between Peterborough and Stamford but operate nationally. Currently on projects in Rutland, Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, Oxon and Herefordshire.
Nicky Barr – The Bossy One
Nicky Barr has been involved with publishing, events management, and business support for more than 20 years, and spent 14 years with the CLA Game Fair. During that time she transformed their sponsorship situation dramatically. She also developed the show’s Corporate Hospitality offering extensively, bringing in new sponsors and improving relations with others that had been involved for years. Nicky organised many of the CLA Game Fair’s feature areas and became responsible for much of the show’s overall organisation.
Nicky now heads up Essence Events, in charge of strategy, fundraising and volunteer management. She has delivered more than 20 events in the past year alone. Her creativity and industry experience allow her to find innovative ways of increasing revenues from new and existing sponsors alike. She credits her ability to build and lead strong, proactive teams for her track record of consistently meeting and exceeding her events’ performance targets.
Paul Pike – Display and Electronics Whizz
Paul has been producing and managing corporate events for 25 years in a variety of venues both in the UK and Europe. His clients have included some of the biggest names in media, property, technology and retailing. He is passionate about helping businesses of all sizes communicate with both their employees and their customers through the use of carefully thought out conferences, award shows, roadshows and product launches. Paul is very hands on, which means he understands all aspects of an event, from concept creation right through to de-rig and has established a reliable resource list to deliver the event up to and beyond the client’s expectations.
Anna Rogers – Packs a PR punch
Anna has over 10 years experience in PR, marketing and events in both consumer and business to business sectors. Having worked in full-service marketing and specialist PR agencies Anna brings a wealth of knowledge and a dynamic, results driven approach to promoting your event.
Sue Taylor – Administrator Extraordinaire
Sue has recently joined the Essence team and is making her presence felt by organising us all superbly. She has a very strong customer service background and can also advise you on your will! In her spare time she is one of the leading organisers of a Village based Country Show with over 1,000 visitors a year.
